Allison Laupp - Award Winning Pastel Artist
I have always been drawn to expression through art, even as a young child. I'm most fulfilled when my hands are creating something beautiful. Those who know me will tell you that whether I am listening to a speaker, in a meeting, or watching my children play, I am likely to have art doodles next to me! I don’t only enjoy making art, I need to! In 2015, I walked away from a successful career that I enjoyed, to pursue my true passion - translating this beautiful world into art and raising our two sweet children with my husband Nathan, who has encouraged and supported me to follow my dream.

Pastels
Throughout my life, I have experimented with different mediums. Pastels are my medium of choice for several reasons: they are the most vivid, pure, and luminous of all mediums. I tend to work boldly and quickly, and pastels feel the most natural in my hand, as they allow me freely apply color, creating striking contrast. They can create soft yet strong pieces, and allow for so many techniques. Pastels are never boring! |
Landscapes
Living in Defiance, Missouri, I am perpetually inspired by my surroundings - untouched forest and field, as well as Century Farms, and vineyards on rolling hills. I strive to bring my viewers into the rich visual experience that is Wine County Missouri. My landscape work is done En Plein Air or in my studio. |
